Chosen by God before the Flood as a righteous man who walked with Him, and taken up without seeing death, O holy Prophet Enoch, thou who didst prophesy the coming of the Lord with ten thousands of His holy ones to execute judgment: standing now before the Throne of Glory, intercede for us who sing to thee: Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

Ikos 1
Thou wast born the seventh from Adam, son of Jared, and didst please the Lord in a generation of great wickedness. Angels showed thee visions of heaven, and thou didst understand the order of creation. Wherefore we cry to thee:
Rejoice, righteous patriarch who walked with God.
Rejoice, thou who didst not taste of death but wast translated.
Rejoice, scribe of righteousness and recorder of heavenly mysteries.
Rejoice, witness of the Holy One in the heavens.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

Kontakion 2
Seeing the corruption of the earth and the fall of the Wicked Angels, thou didst cry out against ungodliness. Thou didst bless the elect and righteous who would live in the day of tribulation, singing to God: Alleluia.

Ikos 2
From thy visions, we learn how thou didst behold the Great One coming forth from His dwelling to tread upon Mount Sinai and execute judgment. The high mountains shall melt like wax, yet with the righteous He makes peace. Therefore we praise thee:
Rejoice, prophet of the day of the Lord.
Rejoice, foreteller of mercy upon the elect.
Rejoice, seer of the trembling of the Wicked Angels.
Rejoice, herald of light and joy for the humble.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

By faith thou wast translated that thou shouldest not see death, as the Apostle to the Hebrews testifieth, for before thy translation thou hadst the testimony that thou didst please God. With the holy Forefathers thou singest to the Creator: Alleluia.

Ikos 3
Sirach also praiseth thee, saying that Enoch pleased God and was translated into Paradise, that he might give repentance to the nations (Sirach 44:16). O thou who didst find favor in the sight of the Most High, accept this our hymn:
Rejoice, example of faith that translates the soul to God.
Rejoice, model of walking blamelessly amid corruption.
Rejoice, father of Methuselah and ancestor of the righteous line.
Rejoice, thou whose years were three hundred and sixty-five, a sign of the solar order.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

Apostle Jude calleth thee “the seventh from Adam” who prophesied, saying: “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds” . Thy voice echoes still; therefore we cry: Alleluia.

Ikos 4
Thou didst see the secrets of the heavens, the places of the luminaries, the treasuries of snow and hail, and the abysses prepared for the fallen angels. Thou didst intercede for the earth and proclaim the healing that comes after judgment. Hence we glorify thee:
Rejoice, traveler through the heavenly realms.
Rejoice, beholder of the Tree of Life and the mountains of the North.
Rejoice, witness against Lucifer and the rebellious Angels.
Rejoice, teacher of the ways of righteousness to the elect.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

In the days when giants walked the earth and violence filled the land, thou didst stand as a preacher of repentance. Thy words of blessing for the righteous and warning for the godless rise as incense before the altar on high. We join thy song: Alleluia.

Ikos 5
Church Tradition and the holy Fathers have seen in thee one of the two witnesses who shall appear in the days of the Revelation, prophesying before the End and confronting the wicked Antichrist, even as thou didst confront the ungodliness before the Flood. O prophet of the last times, hear us:
Rejoice, forerunner of the eschatological judgment.
Rejoice, thou who shalt return to convict the lawless.
Rejoice, companion of Elijah in the final testimony.
Rejoice, herald of the thousand-year reign of the Messiah.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

The whole creation testifieth to thee, O Enoch, for thou didst observe the steadfast order of the stars, the seasons, the trees that retain their leaves, and the seas that keep their bounds. All things obey the command of the Eternal; therefore with them we sing: Alleluia.

Ikos 6
Thou didst record the names and works of the holy angels, the courses of the moon and sun, and the secrets of wisdom reserved for the righteous. Thou didst foresee a new heaven and earth cleansed from all defilement. Accepting our praises, intercede that we may inherit the same:
Rejoice, astronomer of the divine luminaries.
Rejoice, recorder of the angelic hierarchies.
Rejoice, visionary of the renewed creation.
Rejoice, proclaimer of peace and truth forever.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

Kontakion 7
Taken alive into the presence of God, thou dost stand among the celestial hosts as scribe and attendant upon the Throne. From thence thou dost behold the tribulations of the end times foretold to you according to Orthodox Tradition and in the Revelation of the Apostle John. With all the saints thou criest: Alleluia.

Ikos 7
O holy Prophet, who wast shown the abyss of fire prepared for the condemned and the paradise for the elect, pray that we who live in these latter days may be numbered among those who complete their days in peace and inherit eternal gladness:
Rejoice, citizen of the heavenly Zion.
Rejoice, intercessor for those who call upon thy name.
Rejoice, pattern of piety that delivers from the Flood of sin.
Rejoice, hope of translation for the faithful at the Last Day.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

Kontakion 8
The righteous of all ages rejoice in thy memory, for in thee God showed that He translates the pleasing soul without the necessity of the grave. Grant us, O Enoch, a portion of thy faith, that walking with God in this life we may sing eternally: Alleluia.

Ikos 8
We who venerate thee on earth, following the tradition of the Church that honors thee among the Holy Forefathers, beseech thy prayers before the Lamb upon the Throne. May the Lord come with His holy ones and find us worthy of mercy:
Rejoice, thou whose translation prefigures the resurrection.
Rejoice, link between the antediluvian saints and the New Covenant.
Rejoice, voice crying from paradise for repentance.
Rejoice, prophet honored in East and West.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

All creation awaits the day when the Son of Man shall sit upon the throne of His glory, as thou didst behold in thy parables. Then shall every knee bow and every tongue confess, while the ungodly are convicted. With joyful expectation we cry: Alleluia.

Ikos 9
Accept this akathist as a poor offering from hearts that long for the heavenly city thou didst foreshadow. Pray for the Church, for sinners who repent, and for all who honor thy holy memory:
Rejoice, great intercessor before the Judge.
Rejoice, comforter of the persecuted righteous.
Rejoice, teacher of humility and wisdom.
Rejoice, guide to the paths of light and peace.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

Kontakion 10
When the Lord shall come to judge the living and the dead, may thy prophecy be fulfilled in our sight, O Enoch, and may we who have trusted in His mercy hear the words of blessing thou didst record. Together with thee and all the saints we shall sing: Alleluia.

Ikos 10
O glorious Prophet, taken up like thy companion Elijah, ye who are the two witnesses, stand in the final days if it be God’s will, and strengthen the faithful. Until that hour, guard us by thy prayers:
Rejoice, thou who didst see the end from the beginning.
Rejoice, proclaimer of the victory of the elect.
Rejoice, participant in the heavenly liturgy.
Rejoice, eternal witness to the glory of the Triune God.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

Kontakion 11
We who are earthly offer thee this song of thanksgiving, O holy Enoch. Thy faith and translation shine brighter than the sun. Lead us by thy example ever closer to the Living God, that with thee we may cry: Alleluia.

Ikos 11
Rejoice in the Lord, O Prophet, and grant us joy in the Holy Spirit. May thy intercession open the gates of Paradise to all who strive to walk with God as thou didst. With one voice the Church on earth and in heaven glorifies thee:
Rejoice, crown of the pre-Flood righteous.
Rejoice, hope of those who await the Second Coming.
Rejoice, beloved of the Most High.
Rejoice, fellow-servant of the holy Archangels.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

O wondrous Enoch, taken by God Himself, pray that at the end of our earthly pilgrimage we too may be found worthy of translation into the Kingdom of Light, where with thee and all the saints we shall sing the new song to the Lamb forever: Alleluia.

Ikos 12
O holy Prophet, who standest in the presence of the Ancient of Days and beholdest the face of the Elect One, accept this our humble akathist offered with love and contrition. Pray that we may emulate thy holy life, walking with God in purity amid this present age of corruption, and that at the hour of judgment we may be found among the sheep at His right hand:
Rejoice, most exalted among the antediluvian fathers.
Rejoice, thou who didst enter Paradise alive as a pledge of our future glory.
Rejoice, eternal scribe recording the deeds of the righteous.
Rejoice, intercessor for the Church in the days of apostasy.
Rejoice, thou who with Elijah shalt bear final witness before the nations.
Rejoice, herald of the triumphant return of Christ in power.
Rejoice, O Enoch, who walkest with God and pleads for the sons of men!

Kontakion 13
O holy and God-pleasing Prophet Enoch, taken up into the heavenly dwellings without tasting death, together with the holy Forefathers and all the saints, ceaselessly intercede before the Throne of the Most High for us who venerate thee with love. Deliver us from the coming trials, strengthen us in godly fear and repentance, and make us worthy to stand unashamed before the Son of Man when He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones. That with thee and all the heavenly host we may eternally glorify the Life-creating Trinity, singing: Alleluia!

Repeat three times.

FIRST PRAYER TO SAINT PROPHET ENOCH:

O holy Prophet Enoch, who didst walk with God and wast taken up into glory, look mercifully upon us who honor thy memory. Intercede before the Throne of the Most High that we may walk blamelessly, repent of our sins, and be prepared for the coming of the Lord with His holy ones. Protect us from the spirits of wickedness, strengthen our faith, and grant us a place among the righteous in the day of judgment. For blessed is God Who is wondrous in His saints, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

SECOND PRAYER TO SAINT PROPHET ENOCH:

Prayer of Supplication to the Holy Prophet Enoch
(for protection in the End Times, against the Antichrist, and for salvation)

O holy Prophet Enoch, chosen vessel of God, seventh from Adam, who walked with the Lord in righteousness amid a perverse generation and wast taken up alive into the heavenly dwellings without tasting death! Thou who didst behold the mysteries of the ages, who didst prophesy the coming of the Lord with ten thousands of His holy ones to execute judgment upon all the ungodly, and who, according to the tradition of the Church, shalt appear again with the Prophet Elijah as one of the two witnesses to confront the Antichrist in the last days: Look with mercy upon us, thy sinful servants, who live in these perilous times. Protect us by thine intercession from the snares of the enemy, from the great deception that is coming upon the whole world, and from the power and seduction of the Antichrist. Strengthen us in holy fear of God, in unwavering faith, and in sincere repentance, that we may stand firm when trials increase, when the love of many grows cold, and when the foundations of the earth are shaken. Grant us the grace to walk with God as thou didst, keeping our hearts pure and our lamps burning with the oil of good works, even as the night of tribulation draws near. O glorious Enoch, scribe of righteousness and citizen of Paradise, intercede for us before the Throne of the Most High, that we may be preserved from every assault of the evil one, counted worthy of salvation, and found among the elect sheep at the right hand of the Son of Man when He cometh in glory. Deliver us from eternal fire and make us heirs of the Kingdom prepared for those who love God. Through the prayers of the Most Holy Theotokos and all the saints, may the Lord Jesus Christ, Whom thou didst proclaim, have mercy on us and save us, for He is good and the Lover of mankind. Amen.
