Fr. Adam Sexton is a graduate of St. Tikhon’s seminary. He is also a husband and father of eleven children. Fr. Adam is currently the rector at St. Andrew’s parish in Ashland, VA. and is working hard to establish an Orthodox mission in Matushka Angie’s hometown of Culpeper, VA. Fr. Adam is supported in this endeavor by Share the Faith – the only Pan Orthodox Ministry dedicated to funding mission priests in North America. Fr. Adam often works up to two additional jobs to make ends meet, so any assistance for him would be much appreciated. To find out more about Fr. Adam, please visit his Share the Faith information page. You can also connect with him on Parler.
Recently, Fr. Adam started a fundraiser to rescue a beautiful, old Orthodox Church building. His letter about the project is below. Please prayerfully consider donating to this cause, or at the very least forwarding the request on your social media for others to be made aware. In the Western world, many churches have been converted to bars, shopping centers, dance clubs – and much, much worse. It is absolutely tragic to see buildings, still resplendent with Christian symbols (stained glass, crosses, icons, statues) put to such common and even shameful uses. Please help save this building and the Orthodox heritage it represents. Fr. Adam’s letter below as brought to our attention by one of our social media followers.

Hello friends, Glory to Jesus Christ!
I’m hoping to have your help in spreading the word! A former Orthodox Church building in Middlebrook, VA has come up for sale. It was vacated 10 yrs ago when the former All Saints of North America ROCOR congregation moved 50 miles north to Harrisonburg and became Holy Myrrhbearers. The building sold at auction then for $15k and it has stood empty. There are beautiful frescoed icons still on the walls and an intact iconostas as well as a 3bar cross on the cupola. I and another priest visited the spot a week ago and it is our hope to rescue it by purchasing it and preventing it from becoming an Airbnb (or worse)! – This charming spot should remain an Orthodox building and it’s purpose for now would ideally be as a Chapel for special use dedicated to the most Holy Theotokos. Maybe one day a congregation may develop there too.
Who knows what the Lord will do with the spot?
Please help by reposting this gofundme to social media and spreading the word. Please also pray for the Lord to accomplish this good work! The link to the GoFundMe is just below. https://gofund.me/659d7763 May God bless you abundantly!

This is a nice little church building, I remember going to the pascha vigil there with my dad a few times many years ago. The photo brings back memories. I hope some sort of church can move in and prevent it from going to waste.
Please use GiveSendGo for crowdfunding. GoFundMe is corrupt.
