Kontakion 1
O holy and God-bearing Prophets Enoch and Elijah, who walked blamelessly before the Lord and were taken up bodily into the heavens without tasting death, fiery zealots and righteous ones who will appear again before the dread Second Coming of Christ to turn the hearts of the people: with hymns of praise we glorify you. As you stand ever before the throne of the Most High, intercede for us who cry out with love:
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Ikos 1
From the foundation of the world you were chosen as vessels of divine grace, O wondrous ones. Enoch, the seventh from Adam, walked with God in purity amid a crooked generation; Elijah shone as a flaming angel in the flesh, denouncing falsehood and upholding truth. Beholding your heavenly ascent and your foreordained return, we cry out with amazement:
Rejoice, Enoch, who pleased God and were translated by His hand!
Rejoice, Elijah, caught up in the fiery chariot of divine glory!
Rejoice, you who escaped the bonds of death while yet in the body!
Rejoice, witnesses of immortality and pledges of the general resurrection!
Rejoice, for you prefigure the transfiguration of the saints!
Rejoice, for your lives convict the world of sin and call it to repentance!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 2
Seeing the growing wickedness of the sons of men before the Flood, O righteous Enoch, you walked with God in holy fear and prophesied the coming judgment upon the ungodly, crying out to the Creator of all: Alleluia!
Ikos 2
Elijah, beholding Israel turning to Baal and forsaking the living God, you burned with zeal like a seraph and shut the heavens by your word. Together you stand as unyielding pillars of piety. Therefore we sing:
Rejoice, Enoch, preacher of righteousness and denouncer of the Angels’ fall!
Rejoice, Elijah, fearless rebuker of kings and false prophets!
Rejoice, you who preserved true worship in times of universal apostasy!
Rejoice, you whose prayers moved the hand of the Almighty!
Rejoice, models of prayer and fasting that conquer the passions!
Rejoice, for your boldness before God terrifies the demons!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 3
By divine command you were taken up, O most wondrous ones—Enoch that he might not see death, and Elijah in whirlwind and fire—showing that the Lord has power over life and death. Therefore the ranks of angels and the souls of the righteous cry out to God: Alleluia!
Ikos 3
You were preserved in secret places by God’s providence, O holy ones, to return in the last days as forerunners and witnesses. Enoch, companion of the angels in your visions; Elijah, nourisher of the widow and slayer of the prophets of Baal. We who honor your memory cry:
Rejoice, you who will convict the Antichrist and turn many to the truth!
Rejoice, you who will seal the testimony with your blood before the end!
Rejoice, Enoch, seventh lamp from Adam enlightening the righteous line!
Rejoice, Elijah, restorer of the altar on Carmel and caller down of heavenly fire!
Rejoice, you whose ascent gladdened heaven and strengthened the Church on earth!
Rejoice, for in you the hope of bodily glorification is confirmed!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 4
When Elijah stood before the Lord on Horeb, not in earthquake, wind, or fire, but in the still small voice, he covered his face in awe. Likewise Enoch walked in constant communion with the Most High. Hearing these mysteries of divine intimacy, we sing: Alleluia!
Ikos 4
Your lives, O prophets, are lamps of holiness for all generations. Enoch begat Methuselah and taught righteousness; Elijah mentored Elisha and doubled the spirit of prophecy. With compunction we offer these praises:
Rejoice, Enoch, father of those who call upon the Name of the Lord!
Rejoice, Elijah, father of prophets and zealots for the faith!
Rejoice, you who fasted and prayed until your minds soared to heaven!
Rejoice, you who received revelations of the divine economy!
Rejoice, for your zeal consumes the thorns of heresy and vice!
Rejoice, for your meekness before God teaches us true humility!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 5
O prophets taken up to heaven, you intercede unceasingly for the Church militant. By your prayers may the Lord grant us zeal like yours, purity like Enoch’s, and courage like Elijah’s, that we too may cry: Alleluia!
Ikos 5
The whole creation marvels at your translation and your promised return. You who knew the mysteries of the heavens and the judgments to come, strengthen us who live in the last times:
Rejoice, Enoch, who walked with God and was not, for God took him!
Rejoice, Elijah, who ascended and will descend again in power!
Rejoice, you who will stand on the Mount of Olives and prophesy!
Rejoice, tormentors of the beast and his false prophet!
Rejoice, for your victory is already written in the Book of Life!
Rejoice, for through you the faithful are comforted in tribulation!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 6
Having boldness before the throne of grace, O holy duo, pray that we may be delivered from famine of the word, drought of faith, and the idolatry of this age, so that with grateful hearts we may ever sing to the Triune God: Alleluia!
Ikos 6
You are the glory of the righteous of old and the hope of the Church of the new. Enoch, prefiguring the rapture of the saints; Elijah, prefiguring the coming of the Forerunner. Accept this our song:
Rejoice, twin stars illuminating the night of apostasy!
Rejoice, unquenchable lamps of divine truth!
Rejoice, you who trample the snares of the enemy!
Rejoice, healers of souls wounded by sin!
Rejoice, for your memory brings sweetness to the pious!
Rejoice, for your intercession procures salvation for those who call upon you!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 7
When you return in the last days, O prophets, the world will tremble and many will repent. Grant us, even now, O merciful ones, a spirit of repentance and holy fear, that we may cry unceasingly: Alleluia!
Ikos 7
All the choirs of saints rejoice in your fellowship, O God-pleasing Enoch and Elijah. With the Theotokos, the Forerunner, and all the prophets, you glorify the Lamb upon the throne. Therefore we mortals cry:
Rejoice, Enoch and Elijah, united in life, in ascent, and in mission!
Rejoice, you who will finish your course together in martyrdom and glory!
Rejoice, for the Lord has prepared great crowns for you!
Rejoice, for your zeal kindles our cold hearts!
Rejoice, teachers of prayer that moves mountains and closes heavens!
Rejoice, examples of lives wholly consecrated to God!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 8
Strange and most glorious is your life, O prophets: taken up yet to return, hidden yet known to the Church, silent yet ever speaking through the Scriptures. Therefore all creation sings to the Wonderworker: Alleluia!
Ikos 8
To you who are near to God, we entrust our petitions. Protect the Orthodox Church, strengthen her hierarchs, inflame her priests with zeal, and guard her faithful:
Rejoice, defenders of the faithful against the spirit of Antichrist!
Rejoice, destroyers of the altars of false gods in our hearts!
Rejoice, bringers of heavenly fire to consume our impurities!
Rejoice, you who open the ears of the deaf and the eyes of the blind in spirit!
Rejoice, for in you the power of God is perfected in weakness!
Rejoice, for your intercessions are swift and abundant in mercy!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 9
All human nature is at a loss to describe your glory, O most wondrous ones. Taken up in body, you await the day when the dead in Christ shall rise and we shall be caught up together with you to meet the Lord. To Him we sing: Alleluia!
Ikos 9
Eloquence fails, yet love compels us to hymn you. Accept this meager offering from grateful hearts and grant us a share in your boldness and purity:
Rejoice, Enoch, mirror of primordial righteousness!
Rejoice, Elijah, trumpet of divine judgment and mercy!
Rejoice, you who stand as two olive trees and two lampstands!
Rejoice, you whose testimony cannot be silenced!
Rejoice, for the Lord Himself will vindicate you before the nations!
Rejoice, for through you many will be turned from darkness to light!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 10
O holy Prophets, save us from the coming trials, strengthen us in confession of the true faith, and make us worthy to stand with you before the Son of Man when He comes in glory, that with all the saved we may cry eternally: Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Ikos 10
O most glorious Prophets, who were translated to the heavens in body to stand ever before the face of the Living God, enlighten our minds darkened by sin and passions. As you once conversed with angels and received divine mysteries, so now grant us understanding of the fear of the Lord and the sweetness of His presence, that with compunction we may cry aloud:
Rejoice, Enoch, who walked with God in unceasing communion and was not found among mortals!
Rejoice, Elijah, who stood in the still small voice and beheld the Lord’s passing!
Rejoice, you who were counted worthy of heavenly ascent while yet in the flesh!
Rejoice, you who prefigure the glorification of the bodies of the saints!
Rejoice, for you teach us to live as strangers and pilgrims on earth!
Rejoice, for your lives are a ladder uniting earth to heaven!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 11
Having received from God the promise of return in the last times, O holy ones, you await the command to descend once more and complete your earthly course in witness to the Truth. Strengthen us who live in these perilous days, that we may confess the Orthodox Faith without fear and sing to the Savior of all: Alleluia!
Ikos 11
Come, O assembly of the faithful, and with hymns let us magnify the two God-seers who will confront the man of lawlessness. Enoch, the first taken up, and Elijah, the fiery zealot—together they will prophesy, perform signs, and turn many from deception:
Rejoice, you who will stand as two olive trees and two lampstands before the Lord!
Rejoice, you whose mouths will pour forth fire against the enemies of God!
Rejoice, Enoch and Elijah, united in mission and in glorious martyrdom!
Rejoice, for three and a half days you will lie slain, then rise by divine power!
Rejoice, you whose ascension in glory will terrify the nations and comfort the elect!
Rejoice, for through you the victory of Christ over the beast is proclaimed!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!
Kontakion 12
O wondrous Prophets, grant us a share in your holy zeal and unshakeable faith, that in the midst of tribulations and temptations we may not faint but ever cry out with grateful hearts to the Triune God: Alleluia!
Ikos 12
Singing your translation and your foretold return, we implore your mighty intercession, O Enoch and Elijah. Protect the Church from heresy and schism, guard the Orthodox lands, deliver us from famine of soul and body, and lead us into the Kingdom:
Rejoice, intercessors before the throne who never cease praying for mankind!
Rejoice, you who calm the storms of passions and the tumults of this age!
Rejoice, physicians of souls and healers of spiritual blindness!
Rejoice, you who kindle the fire of repentance in cold hearts!
Rejoice, for your memory is sweet to the pious and terrible to the ungodly!
Rejoice, for you lead those who honor you toward eternal blessedness!
Rejoice, O Enoch and Elijah, prophets of God and glorious forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ!

First Prayer to the Holy Prophets Enoch and Elijah
O holy and glorious Prophets Enoch and Elijah, who walked with God and were taken up to heaven in glory, and who are yet to return to preach repentance before the end: look with mercy upon us who honor your memory. Kindle in our hearts the fire of divine zeal, grant us to walk blamelessly as Enoch walked, and to stand courageously against falsehood as Elijah stood. Intercede for the salvation of our souls, the peace of the Church, and the repentance of the world, that together with you we may glorify the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Second Prayer to the Holy Prophets Enoch and Elijah
O holy and God-pleasing Prophets Enoch and Elijah, who walked blamelessly upon the earth and were found worthy to be taken up bodily into heaven without tasting death! Enoch, the seventh from Adam, who walked with God in purity amid a lawless generation and prophesied the coming judgment; Elijah, the fiery zealot who upheld true worship, closed the heavens by prayer, and was carried aloft in a chariot of fire: With reverence and love we call upon you. As you stand ever before the throne of the Almighty and are destined to return in the last days as fearless witnesses and forerunners of the Second Coming of Christ, intercede for us sinners who live in these perilous times. Kindle within our hearts the divine fire of zeal for God’s glory. Grant us, O Enoch, to walk humbly and blamelessly before the Lord all the days of our life. Grant us, O Elijah, courage to stand against falsehood, idolatry, and every form of evil, even when we stand alone. Strengthen us in holy prayer and fasting, deliver us from spiritual famine and the drought of faith, and protect the Holy Orthodox Church from heresies, divisions, and the spirit of Antichrist. Turn the hearts of the people to repentance, enlighten the minds of the wavering, and grant victory to the pious. O glorious Prophets and heavenly intercessors, when the Lord Jesus Christ comes in glory with His holy angels, make us worthy to stand with boldness before Him, together with you and all the saints, glorifying the Most Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Third Prayer of Intercession to the Holy Prophets Enoch and Elijah
O holy and glorious Prophets Enoch and Elijah, who walked blamelessly with God and were taken up bodily into heaven as living witnesses of His power! Enoch, righteous preacher who prophesied judgment upon the ungodly; Elijah, fiery zealot who destroyed the altars of Baal and upheld the true faith in a time of apostasy: you who are appointed by God to return in the last days as unyielding witnesses against the Antichrist, hear our humble supplication. Look with mercy upon us who live in these latter times, full of confusion, deception, and spiritual danger. Protect us, we pray, from every schism and division that tears the unity of the Church. Guard us from all heresy and false teachings that distort the Orthodox Faith. Deliver us from atheism and the spirit of this world that denies the living God.O God-bearing Prophets, shield us from every delusion and prelest, from demonic deception and from the subtle snares that lead the soul astray. Grant us discernment of spirits and a sober mind, that we may not be carried away by signs, wonders, or flattering words. Most especially, preserve us from falling into the trap and deception of the Antichrist. Strengthen our weak faith, inflame our hearts with holy zeal, and make us steadfast confessors of Christ even unto the end. Grant us, O holy ones, the grace of perseverance to the end, that having remained faithful in tribulation, we may be found worthy to stand with you before the Son of Man when He comes in glory.By your powerful intercessions before the throne of the Most High, O Enoch and Elijah, cover us with your prayers, enlighten our minds, fortify our wills, and lead us safely through the present darkness into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, to Whom, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, be all glory, honor, and worship, now and ever and unto the ages of ages.Amen.
